Hillary for vice President under Obama. January 10, 2008
There is a lot of talk about the first woman in the white house or the first black man in the white house but lets start talking about the first non white male as both the president and vice president. Now the question is should Hillary or Obama be the president? I think Hillary should be the vice president and here is why. Hillary wants to work with in the system and use her contacts to get things done. Obama can take a harder line on the big speeches and press conferences and Hillary could work behind the scenes and make the compromises to get the job done. I like to see a president shoot for the moon with grand ideas and his advisers can bring him down to earth just enough to get the bills through. What do you think?

The opposite would seem to work better.
First, consider the size of her ego. She’s played second banana before to Bill, I doubt she would play the same role again to someone who once again would over shadow her.
Second, Obama’s endless platitudes and feel good self-help guru talk would work well for him as V.P. where he wouldn’t have any real work to do (kind of like now, since at this point he has now served about 2 years of his 6 year term and is rapidly approaching a point were he will have spent more time campaigning then actually sitting in Congress).
Third, Hillary would probably be a better president since she is (I can’t believe I am saying this) much less self-righteous than Obama whose frequent recourse to “God made me liberal” brings me some worries.
And to think, if only Jack Ryan hadn’t tried to talk his wife into public sex we probably would be asking, Obama who? HA!
T.T. you are probably right that Hillary would rather remain a powerful Senator then be second fiddle. Most Vice presidents are now chosen with an eye to which states they may help win than any attributes they should have. One thing I do know is that the Federal government was been unable to get anywhere on the big issues for a very long time. What I really would like is a third party that is independent to rise up and challenge the other two. Won’t happen.
Now I think all of you are wrong. Hillary and Obama are both bad canidates. They both want to grant amnisty and want a united health care plan. Not to mintion they are going to introduce Canamaramex. Then we will get the north amarcan dollar called the Amero. Our econimy will shoot down a lot. This is why they are both bad canidates.
Are you pulling my chain Mr. “Tired of Liberals”?
I suppose you want to ask all the undocumented workers to go back home like Romney’s plan. Who is going to go to the millions of homes across America and drag these people onto a bus which Mexaco may turn back at the border anyway. They don’t want millions of homeless people to deal with. Who would take care of the American born children of these people, the tax payer?
As far as health care, do you like the fact that if you need emergency room service you may not get it because it is clogged up with people who don’t have insurance?
I think there is far too much vague assumptions in most peoples opinions on the candidates in the first place. There seems to be too little talk of their views and actual politics than, “Hillary’s ego such and such” and “Obamas smooth talking”. These are ridiculously unsubstantial arguments have no place in politics and instead the focus should be on their very few differences in their plans for America. I support Obama mostly due to his support of the market-based cap and trade system to lower greenhouse emissions.
I won’t even bother to argue with ‘Tired of Liberals’ as Ron Paul and others paranoid fear of the North American Alliance (or whatever its called) is merely humorous. Not to mention it reads like a fourth graders first persuasive essay.
Furthermore, statements such as “Third, Hillary would probably be a better president since she is (I can’t believe I am saying this) much less self-righteous than Obama whose frequent recourse to “God made me liberal” brings me some worries.” this are so painfully uninformed they’re frustrating. Hillary’s recent talk of ‘feeling the Holy Spirit’ is enough to halt one of these unsubstantial arguments I loath.
loath [sic] all you want, but I would think since you support Obama you would be more into “hope” and “change [we] can believe in.” By the way, what does that mean? Can’t anyone believe in anything they desire? I mean, if Obama promised to turn every horse into a unicorn tomorrow I (or you) could choose to believe him- it doesn’t mean he is capable of performing the task.
Bottom line, Obama is a brilliant but self-deluded man who somehow thinks that he (the Senator with the most liberal voting record in the Senate) can unify the country. Moreover, his P.R. campaign as the candidate who can “transcend” race is at the very least disingenuous considering his two decade long affiliation with a black nationalist church.
Furthermore, perhaps you could forgive me when I am unimpressed by his supporters. Surely you can understand considering the following:

Also, I must express a degree of curiosity with regard to why you would support Obama. After all, his message of hope and unity would seem to run head on into the anger you have expressed toward those who disagree with you. How can we achieve unity when you feel the need to characterize those who disagree with your choice of candidate as “ridiculous” and “painfully uninformed”? Or is “unity” simply some kind of code word for achieving an agenda while still sounding diplomatic about it? As far as I can tell Obama seems to sincerely believe that since he is really hopeful, charismatic, and nice he will be able to somehow make the left and right agree. I hate to break the news to you and him, but on the substantial issues that divide both sides it is going to take more than hope and well-crafted speeches.
But I will digress, as I have already posted on this on my own blog. BTW I hope all is well with you atatude. You should swing by my blog more often.
We are all so easily manipulated by the spin masters and most people don’t even realize it. Does anything that some Reverend said going to impact Health care legislation or Immigration policy or the trade deficit? Does the gender or skin color of our next president going to affect our lives in any way? A lot of Hilary’s so called white working class voters won’t vote for a black man, period. A lot of people don’t like Hillary Clinton the person even though she may be super effective despite her likeability. We wind up with the Presidents we have because their campaigns push the right buttons, not because the electorate or the press have made a thorough comparison on the major issues. Based on what the three candidates have said, which one is going to handle Iraq better? We don’t know because none of them have laid out a detailed plan and plausible scenario. What we are left with is our feelings and tired voting habits. I think a president should have two main attributes. They need to be a strong leader, meaning they need to convince the nation and Congress to enact their vision. Bush has been a strong leader and that’s how we find ourselves in Iraq and how Hillary voted to fund the war. The second thing a president must have is correct vision to lead us to that is based on sound judgment and reality. That is the part where number 43 has failed.
Hey T.T. - your blog has really taken off. I have gotten out of the habit but I hope to get motivated to post regularly again.
Hey Just Tired - No need to ridicule other peoples opinions but I obviously agree with you that most of the political coverage is a waste. On green house gases I tend to look at the environment on a very very long time line. All bets are off if the world population continues to grow. There isn’t a single environmental policy that can overcome ten, twenty or thirty billion people all living, eating, and consuming on our planet. Until we treat our planet like a terrarium which will die if it goes out of balance, the distant future does not look good. The recent riots over rising food prices around the world are an early warning bell.
No Hillary ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would rather have my puppy run.
At least she is trained and doen’t lie.
